Research Projects

Mahidol University is a top-ranked research-based university in Thailand. Hence, at the Faculty of Public Health, research is one of our core missions.

At the Department of Occupational Health and Safety, faculty members initiate and conduct research in the field of occupational health and safety under various projects. The objectives of these projects are to identify, evaluate, determine work-related risk factors and their association with health and safety outcomes of interest in order to develop appropriate preventive and control measures. Recent and ongoing projects of the Department are listed below:

Project on Exposure & Risk Assessment and Health Surveillance of Workers

Project on Noise Exposure Assessment and Development of Predictive Model for Hearing Loss among Workers

Principal Investigator: Dr. Wisanti Laohaudomchok

Project Duration: From March 2023
Summary of Results: Investigators conducted walk through survey to observe working conditions, reviewed of relevant literature and available past measurement results of workers’ hearing capacities and noise & chemicals exposures at work, collected additional data related to work practices and personal activities by questionnaire and interview. The model for prediction of hearing loss among workers have been developed using a combination of statistical techniques including binary logistic regression multivariate regression analyses. Currently, research articles under this project are in preparation process
